                                                                 Usually the first thing I do is to start figuring out where the colors will be

                                                                 then I'll start cutting panels and continue to rearrange until it's right.

   

                                                                            

             

Although this skirt will have multiple colors in a 'random' pattern,

 there needs to be a base of continuity so that the eye has somewhere to rest.

     The front is symmetrical in arrangement and the black is evenly placed, the rest of the colors

         will be asymmetrical giving the garment a general feeling of whimsy.

From left to right...

1) need to add the cream, 2) added the cream but it still needs something, hmmm, tap, tap tap, 3) finally decided on adding a tan.

I had to add the tan because the front needed to be filled in on the right (see the empty space on photo # 2)

and with out adding another element of color, the other colors would have been over repeated
