The sketch to the left is a combination of the 3 paintings below
Sleeves... Bodice... and Skirt. What's going to make my gown different is the untraditional mix of color and fabric, which will come into effect as I play with the sketches and laying actual fabric on them. |

Here I've put together a fabric board; I wanted to include as many colors as possible but, after getting the main colors down on the sketch it seems that adding more color with fabric just isn't working... this gown will have trim and some jewels like pearls added at the end which will bring in the extra color needed.
The velvet on the bodice and down the front of the skirt is blue, it looks a lot lighter when out of doors and the velvet on the lower portion of the sleeves and top of the over skirt is green with blue velvet lining.
